I have a very busy life as a wife, a mom and a grandma to Matt, Katie and Sara. I also work full-time as a kindergarten teacher. And I am also 64 years old.
I have experienced the early onset of osteoarthritis leading to both of my hips being replaced 13 years ago. This year I had to have both my knees replaced. Good nutrition and exercise, specifically weight training, have played a major role in both my preparation for successful surgery and in my rapid, strong recovery.
Weekly workouts, including both weight training and cardio, helped me develop a strong body and a good attitude. With John Henry's guidance, I understand the importance of protein and its' role in building muscle. Strong muscles made the physical therapy that followed my knee replacements much easier. Because much of the therapy was similar to the exercise routine I was accustomed to at MBF, I could quickly adapt to the exercises the physical therapist had me do. I also understood how the strength training would contribute to my recovery and make my hip and knee joints more stable. Thank you John Henry and T.E.A.M. MBF for all your support. Exercise has helped me maintain a positive attitude toward all aspects of my life!
