I began working with John Henry in 2001 to get "back on track" with my health and fitness. I had reached a point in the way I was working out and eating that it was getting me nowhere. In fact, I was making things worse for myself and I didn't know how to fix it. For the past eight years, I spent the majority of my time building my career, while at the same time trying to live what I thought was a healthy, fit lifestyle as I continued to incorporate "working out", athletic activities and "good, sensible eating habits" into my life. Well, if I was doing everything correctly, why did I reach an all-time high at the age of 33, weighing 164 pounds, wearing a size 12 pant and having 34% body fat?
I thought to myself, "Well, that's not too bad, if I could just lose 15 pounds I should be a new person and in the best shape of my life!" Well, those results did come and, much to my surprise, faster than I ever expected. John Henry educated me on the importance of not focusing on the scale, but how my clothes were fitting. He had me start eating five meals per day and combined 3-4 days of strength training

and some cardio activity. After four weeks of following the program, I felt the fat just start disappearing from my body. My size 12's were falling off and I could see muscle definition in my upper body that I had never had before. I was starting to understand that it's not just weight training that builds lean muscle, but that proper nutrition, water intake and sleep are very important, too.
From the increased confidence I gained from John Henry, I decided to start competing in figure competitions. Never would I have thought of doing this before or would I have had any idea how to train for one. I now fluctuate between 140 and 145 pounds and wear a size 4, sometimes a 6. Most people can't believe I weigh this much and wear a size 4! That's why I don't pay attention to what the scale says. I know my lean muscle takes up less space in my body than all that body fat used to.
Never did I realize that by a chance referral to Mind & Body Fitness and John Henry Creel, my life would be transformed- physically, nutritionally and mentally.
